During those milder, rainy days, you need a sturdy rain sheet that’s breathable and dependable. The Shires Tempest Original Lite Sheet is a lightweight turnout that is cut deep and can withstand field wear as well. Made of tough, durable Shiretex 600 denier ripstop fabric, this sheet is waterproof and breathable and is coated with a specially formulated hydrophilic coating designed to attract excess sweat and moisture. The difference in air temperature between the inside and outside of the blanket draws sweat to the outer part of the blanket where it dissipates into the atmosphere keeping your horse dry and comfortable. The Tempest Original Lite Sheet is versatile too. Alone, this turnout has 0g warmth but, you can upgrade the warmth of this turnout using separate rug liners available in 100g or 200g.

The Shires Tempest Original Lite Sheet comes in a variety of colors to compliment your horse, but our Fun Duck pattern, pictured below, is hard to beat. The groupings of illustrated ducks against a purple field are very cute and will make your horse stand out. See below for the patterns and solid colors available.

Our Tempest Original Lite Sheet has two hook & eye closures on the chest that are easy to use to secure the trurnout to your horse.

CENTRAL SECURITY

Secure your turnout around the belly using the two crossing surcingles. They offer the most security to secure the turnout on your horse and they’re adjustable so you can get the best fit.

TAIL COVERAGE

We added a tail flap to help keep the elements off your horse’s tail.
