Cute and Comfortable But Does Not Work Well For Flexible Dog

This is super cute and much more comfortable for my toy poodle than the traditional e-collar. However, the design is a bit flawed; the collar was a little too narrow for yogi (flexible) dog, so depending on where you are trying to prevent your dog from licking, it may not always work. For my dog, even though she was not able to reach her stomach with this on but she was able to still reach her back paws and lower back. I put this on her one time when she has a small cut on her foot she wouldn’t stop licking, I noticed that she was still able to lick it with ease ?. I still gave it a 4 star given how cute and comfortable it is for my dog. But just a friendly reminder, this will not replace your e-collar completely so don’t get rid of it just yet.

    Nice design

I got this for my Bichon male dog (17 +pounds) because he has a wart on his paw and keeps bothering it; He was able to reach his front paw! I purchased a L and replaced it for the XL ; It worked , but I wish it was lighter ! It is too heavy for a small dog … He also cannot play because it is “blinding” …He cannot see his paws. I work long hours and he manage to walk and sleep with it, but has difficulty going up/down 2 steps (it will be very dangerous if a dog is unattended to go down the steps; he/she will fall!!!) He is able to eat and drink but the bowls had to be adjusted. I think the L will work for a surgery that does not involve paws (Hope this helps). It is super easy to put on and off! I like the “turtle neck” idea. Not tight at all .

    The best recovery cone!

Update: I just received the small & it’s perfect! I ordered several other cone & blow up ones and they don’t compare to this one. The extra money for this one is well worth it. Pictures included.I wanted to love this but the measurements did not work for my 11 yr old miniature daschund. She is 11 pounds and her neck size measures 10″. I ordered a medium and it hits the floor. I just ordered a small & I hope it will work because I really do like the way it’s made. It’s very secure and soft around the neck as well as soft cone material. This is important to me because my dog had dental and jaw surgery. Unlike a cone or a doughnut type collar, this one allows your pet to see & rest comfortably. I will update when I receive the small one.

Works Great With a Few Revisions

I tried this collar but my 9 lb Cavapoo had it off within seconds no matter how much I tightened the neck (within a safe limit). I cut the plastic knob (dangerous if chewed and swallowed) that holds the string, sewed the loose ends together, and tucked them into the existing hole. Then I sewed 5 elastic loops to the edge of the ribbed collar so I could string her existing collar through. It worked like a charm! She got used to it right away and can even eat and drink with my makeshift elevated food and water bowls (bowl attached with Velcro to the top of a large soup can). It seems like a lot of work, but as a pet owner, you’ll do what you need to do to get through the post-op period safely! She can no longer get to her incision. The collar is almost like a little pillow.

Good alternative to the plastic cone

This was such a good alternative to the plastic cone. It pops on and off with ease and provides a pillow to sleep on. It kept my dog from getting to his stitches for the two weeks we needed. The drawstring did come out on one side after 5 days and the repair was a little tedious but doable. Definitely would recommend

    Really Comfy!

Normal e-collars are awkward for every dog I’ve had. They can’t eat, drink, they bump into doors. For skittish pups they are especially awkward. Basically a nightmare. With the comfy cone, he can enjoy his normal activities. He can even use the stairs. And I think he actually likes it. It’s perfect for a pillow when he naps. The actual functionality (the real purpose) is great. He cannot reach his stitches, where are fairly far back. I’d absolutely buy it again!

Wow What a product to make a sad dog happy!

My dog is 20 pounds and he had a cyst removed front leg. We started with the plastic cone from the vet but he was so miserable I went on line and read the wonderful reviews and decided I’d try this collar. What a difference let me count the ways. 1. Is happy, 2. Can eat and drink water with this soft product. 3. I take if off when I let him outside, and go with him to make sure he leaves the stitches alone. Then pop it back on and give him a treat. He’s happy… Am I happy? I can be if you too will get this for your pet.

This is a great product that all dog owners should know about! Our sweet dog was having a terrible time with the standard clear plastic cone. She could not get to her food or water with it on and was irritated with having it roll around on her neck. It finally broke and I put duct tape on it. Thank goodness we found your collar/cone. It was a game changer. Highly recommend it!

Great fit and is very comfortable

We have a Boston Terrier that was getting spayed. I wanted an alternative to those plastic head cones. For us and our dog this product was perfect. It was soft and comfortable. It kept her from licking the incision. It really made her much more comfortable. It just slipped on and had an adjustment for neck size. It is easy to take care of.

More comfortable than a plastic cone, but wish it was wider

This is a much more comfy alternative to the dreaded plastic cone, but I wish it was wider. We have been using this on our 10 lb schnoodle after her spay surgery. If you are buying this specifically for a spay surgery, just note that with a bit of wiggling, my dog has been able to get to her incision. The soft material is comfortable but she has pushed it to the side a few times and has reached the spot we have been trying to keep her from, so use with caution. Make sure you keep your eye on your dog at all times and maybe even revert to the plastic cone overnight.

    perfect alternative!

I bought this for my puppy after seeing a friend using it for her dog. After a couple of pre-surgery attempts to get her used to having it on her neck (and the first one she lashed out at), she eventually learned that it’s not so bad to have it around her neck. The circles are almost pillow-like, and my puppy very comfortably sleeps in her collar now she is post-surgery. It’s been 2 days since she started wearing it, and only twice has she tried to remove it. I think her issue is more that it’s a little clumsy for her to try to get into a comfortable position and sometimes to walk in, but she doesn’t understand that it’s far easier to wear this than the traditional hard plastic cone. I’ll be getting another of these for my larger dog!

So Much Better Than The Hard Plastic Cone!

My poor, 14 year old Buddy has corneal ulcers and cannot be allowed to touch his eyes for at least two weeks! The old, plastic Elizabethan collar was NOT working for him at all. I found this and decided to give it a try. It’s absolutely perfect for my little guy! It’s soft yet wide enough that he can’t reach the areas he’s not supposed to. You can also adjust the snugness easily with the pull tab. He can eat, drink, and sleep normally and walk around without banging into furniture. For vanity’s sake I remove it when he goes out to do his business (I don’t want to add insult to injury, you know). He has a bad a** reputation to uphold. I so wish I had this when he had bladder stones removed. This is worth every penny to keep your fur baby comfortable amidst indignity.

I can not tell you how wonderful this product is. It was a life saver. My poor dog had a wound on his rear foot and needed to wear the dreaded cone. We had a black soft cone left over from a previous pet, so he didn’t have to wear the hard one from the vet. However, my poor buddy sat in the kitchen and refused to move when I put his black soft cone on. For over twenty minutes. He just sat there. And then the crying started. He couldn’t eat or drink with it, he couldn’t jump on furniture with it, and fell on his face when trying to jump off the couch. He was miserable and we had to fix things. Well we found this cone and gave it a try and what a difference. He was so much happier with it. It’s light weight, soft, he jumps up on the couch with it, eats and drinks with it, and can see so he’s happier. He is 20lbs, and his neck measures about 15 and a half inches. I think I got him a medium, the one that goes to just over 15 inches and it fit great. I just popped it over his head and didn’t really need to adjust the drawstring since he was so close to the top measurements. But it would have been easy enough to do. He was so much happier with this, and it worked great. He tried to get his foot, couldn’t reach it and gave up. He used this cone as a pillow. I may buy more for gifts. It may sound funny, but this gave our dog peace of mind. He was so depressed by the other version for the two days we waited to receive this one. Buy yours now before you need it.
I did not get any discount or benefit from this review. ( and please excuse his wild hair, groomers have been closed in our area due to the virus)
Oh and it doesn’t inflate, its a soft lightweight cushion.

Love this for my baby girl that just got spayed. I used a soft cone and donut in the past with my other dogs when they have had surgeries, but they were still miserable. Looking on Amazon, I came across this. I ordered the XL because while only 11lbs, she is very long. Fits perfectly. She seems so much more comfortable than she would be in a cone or donut. It’s like a pillow around her neck. I like the way it moves with her body and it’s easy for her to eat and drink with it on.

Finally a post surgical “cone” that he likes!

Our 7 month old Cavalier (19 pds, 11″ diameter neck) was just neutered 2 days ago. We tried the calm cone and that was a disaster the first day. It was heavy and he couldn’t lift his head. So I went to the vet and got the dreaded plastic clear cone. That actually worked better but not great. he still wouldn’t move or walk in it. We got the Aarf cone this morning. Popped it on him and voila! He’s a happy camper. We tried a medium and large, and the large is best for his size. The medium fit fine, but I could tell he would be able to reach the incision site because the diameter/width of the cone wasn’t wide enough for his size. He’s sleeping right now and clearly looks comfortable.

Amazing!!! My dog is extremely agile flexible, and mischievous. I didn’t think it would work for him based on some of the reviews. I bought it anyway, because it just seemed so MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE than the comfy-but-still-vision-impairing-cone-shaped ones. He did try taking it off at first, but stopped with positive encouragement (verbal direction & treats); he did try reaching his stitches at first, but, again, stopped with positive encouragement. I am sure that he could have figured out how to bend the collar to reach his stitches, but he didn’t. He is supposed to keep it on for 2 weeks. I was able to wash it in cold and dry it- dried quickly. We take it off for walks, because we are able to watch him closely. When we return from a walk, he asks us to put it back on him. We joke that he must like having a built in pillow to nap.

    Safe, secure and happy Pup!

Perfect for a sensitive Dog who is afraid of everything but this slipped over his head and he had no reaction. He eats, drinks, goes through the doggy door and sleeps in his cone and best of all he cannot get his feet in his mouth to pull out his stitches. My furkid had all of his teeth pulled and had a lot of stitches so this was a big deal. But with this cone I felt safe in knowing that when I was not home he would still be safe and also able to still have a normal dog day. Highly recommend. Cleans easily and fabric has not torn or snagged. Perfect.

    FANTASTIC PRODUCT

Our dear cat had a sore nipple. He kept licking it and it wouldn’t heal. Off to the vet, who gave him a steroid shot. It cleared up for a while, but then he started licking it again. Bag Balm, Neosporin – nothing worked because he kept licking. I think applying medication may have even made it worse. We tried a cat body suit. He kept it on for about ten minutes and then slipped out of it. We tried two different cones – I don’t know who hated them more, him or me. The poor cat looked miserable in both of them. We finally found this Comfy Cone and ordered it. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this product is exceptional. It is easy to get on the cat and – best of all – our boy doesn’t mind wearing it. That’s a relief for our cat and for me. And since he isn’t able to lick his sore nipple, it has healed again. I can’t say enough good things about the Comfy Cone. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Dog wiggled out of it

I did not spec the sizes initially and ordered the large for my 12 pound shih Zhu first. The item is cute and a great idea and oh the pictures I was able to get of him wearing it!! But, he was still able to maneuver his way to chewing his hind leg. So, I returned the large and got the XL. I thought everything was going great. There’s no way he could reach any part of his body. However, twice he was able to wiggle free of the cone and then chew his leg to pieces. I have promptly returned the XL as well. Won’t work for us.

    Brilliant – FINALLY!

Someone with a brain finally figured it out. This “cone” is perfect – thank you! For all you dog owners with babies that have skin problems or severe allergies (food, fleas, etc.) this really is soft, sturdy (not rigid), and doesn’t allow your dog to self-injure. It does allow your dog to rub their eyes against a piece of furniture but they can’t scratch their eyes using their paws. When my dog panics and runs to her safe place the cone doesn’t jam into her neck as she catapults herself into her crate and hits the side upon entry. The cone is waterproof and I thought the fabric would be uncomfortable but it isn’t. I’m ordering a 2nd cone now because we always need a 2nd or 3rd clean one on hand, ready to pull out on a moment’s notice.

    Runs Small

I ordered a medium for my 11 pound Lhasa Apso with some reservations. Many reviews said to order a size larger than what you think you need. The medium size would come in before surgery on a luxating patella. She had no problem getting to the stitches on top of her knee. I also ordered a Large but it won’t be in for two more days. I hope it works. The collar seems so comfy. In the mean time I had to run up to the pet store to get a bulkier padded collar. That one seems to be working but I am hoping the large Comfort Cone will be just as effective.! I am afraid she will get a stiff neck from the bulky pet store collar. Oh what we will do for our pets.

Soft and Great Quality but Cat could still reach wound

Bought this for my 8 month old kitten who was neutered. The vets office gave us the typical hard cone collar which was very uncomfortable for him. I went on amazon and was excited to find this, payed extra to get it the same day I ordered it only to find out it doesn’t work, he could still reach his wound site. Sooo disappointed, I really wanted to make my little guy more comfortable while he is forced to wear a medical collar. This might work for a surgery on the upper torso and head, but not for a spay or neuter.

Ordered both small (gray) and medium (navy) size for my dog since I didn’t know which one would fit her best.

My dog is a 5-pound Maltese and this was for her post-spay recovery. Both fit her well but I ended up returning the small and keeping the medium because I wanted to be extra sure that she wouldn’t be able to lick the incision site.

It worked perfectly. The product was lightweight, soft, and comfortable. My dog wore it for 7 days full-time even when she was eating and sleeping but it did not bother her at all.

This is the very BEST – GENIUS

This is an amazing cone. I think Molly would probably wear it all the time. It’s just like they have a pillow on. Molly is a 26 lb cocapoo. She has on a XL.She needs to have warts removed and I couldn’t go through anymore cones. I searched them all and gave this a try. I don’t know if I should have gotten a large it’s pretty big but I don’t want to keep sending back so I will see if this is going to do the job. I am thinking the large might be good as this is their biggest size, but I know you have to keep them from biting, can’t tell you if the large would work better for a dog this size.

    Game changer for my dog

Our boy scratched his eye and refused to relax with the conventional cone. This collar fits him perfectly(size XL), flexes enough that he can sleep with it, yet totally blocks his front and rear paws from scratching at his eye. He is very comfortable with this collar, as you can see in the pic. Easy to wipe clean. Went to buy a second one but they were out. Hope they bring these back because I want at least two more for friends.

Million Times Better Than a Cone!

Highly recommend!! I cannot tell you how pleased we are with the Dog Comfy Cone. It is lightweight, soft and allowed our dog to comfortably rest her head and neck and sleep with no problem. The neck is easily adjustable and the fit was true to size. She has worn it for ten days after being spayed and it has successfully kept her from accessing the incision. We also washed it and it air-dried quickly.Customer Service was excellent! We had originally ordered the grey color, but received the blue. After we called, they immediately sent out the grey, and upon receipt of the grey, we then mailed back the blue. Excellent, you won’t be disappointed!

    No cone of shame!

So much better than the hard cones!

This soft cone is great! Works out so much better than the hard cone for my dog. She was so stressed and depressed wearing the hard one. She was knocking things over and bumping into things which caused the hard cone to hit her in the throat and make her cough. As soon as I took the hard cone off and put the soft one on, she perked up and acted like herself again. This soft cone is basically a pillow she carries around and is perfect for keeping her from reaching her surgical areas and for napping. I got the Large size for my dog based on the sizing chart and reviews. It just did fit over her head with no room to spare and the cord fastener extended as far as it would go, but it is not tight on her neck. So happy with this product and highly recommended!

So much better than any other cone we have ever tried!

My pup recently hurt her paw and we had to put on the “cone of shame” – needless to say, she HATED it, so I took to amazon to look for an alternative and found this one and OH BOY, let me tell you – this is awesome! Its easily adjustable, easy to put on and take off and your pup can go about their daily activities (eating, sleeping, being cute) much more easily than with other cones. My pup was so comfortable, she used the cone as her nap pillow (see pic attached). The material is good and durable (haven’t washed it yet, but it looks like it will hold up). It is also super functional and fulfills its purpose of keeping her from licking her injured paw. Would recommend 10/10!

Adjustable, comfy, and still able to function!

Our fur baby Ember is a yorkipoo, 10 months old, 10.5 pounds. Got spayed the day of photo. The cone the vet gave her came off within an hour. I bought this for her comfort because I had a feeling the vet provided one was not going to cut it. She is able to eat, sleep, go potty, and be the happy girl she is. It must be comfy for her because she hasn’t tried to take it off on her own by pushing on it or pawing at it. She means the world to our family so we wanted to provide her with the best during this painful recovery.

    Good but not great

No doubt that this is much more comfortable than a regular cone! My little girl was able to eat and sleep very comfortably without any issues. The only negative that I did notice some others mentioned is that she’s able to lick herself down below, including her paws. I don’t think she is able to get to her stitches, but she does try to kick her stitches. I tried the dog onesie and it seems as though she is more comfortable in that. I do however switch between the 2 to give her a break from being compressed with a onesie, but I do feel as though I have to watch her a bit more with this..

I’m so glad I found this!

I have a little dog with very little fur and very sensitive skin, so I needed something comfortable where he could not scratch or lick his hot spots. We have had other “donuts” but they irritated his neck and ears. I love the soft collar neck sleeve This is the perfect solution-he doesn’t mind it at all. It protects him without restricting him.

    Best ecollar I’ve ever seen

We have a 9 lb. Pomeranian, who just got spayed and needed an ecollar to keep her from licking her incision. We tried other ecollars, which were awful. This ecollar is so wonderful. It has a soft round sock around the neck, so it doesn’t dig into our dog’s neck, like other hard ecollars do. It’s also a perfect size. It’s not too large so our pup can eat, drink water and sleep comfortably. Yet, it’s large enough to keep her from licking her incision. I wish I’d known about this ecollar when our other pets were spayed and neutered. It’s totally worth the money.

    Still able to chew paws

I wanted this to work so badly. It’s pretty lightweight and my dog didn’t seem to mind having it on. She totally flips out when we put a plastic cone on her and refuses to even eat or drink (talk about stubborn!) which is why I was so excited when I found this but unfortunately it doesn’t work. I ordered both the small and medium because I wasn’t sure which one would fit her best. She is a 6 lb. Pomeranian and even with the medium she still manages to chew her paws which is what we are trying to keep her from doing.I couldn’t believe she could still reach them! I’m so disappointed. So if you’re trying to keep your dog from chewing their paws, unless they have really short legs, this just won’t do. ?

Wonderful, must have if you have a small dog

Buy yours now before you need it.I did not get any discount or benefit from this review. ( and please excuse his wild hair, groomers have been closed in our area due to the virus)Oh and it doesn’t inflate, its a soft lightweight cushion.

    I wanted to love this!

What a great idea! Recently my small dog had a cyst removed, and because he’s low to the ground, that plastic collar kept hitting the floor, and stopping him in his tracks. I looked for all kinds of ideas, and I thought this was just the ticket. He’s just about 20 lbs., and has a long body and short legs. Based on other reviews, I bought a large, and you can see by the photo that large isn’t all that large. It seemed to work great initially until I discovered that he was still able to reach around and lick his wound! I don’t know what the solution would be, and maybe it’s partly because of the way he’s built, but this really didn’t work for him (and me)! It might, however, work on a dog with a shorter body length.

    Didn’t work for my dog

I’m sure this is great for some dogs but it didn’t work for me. Pulling the top over her head wasn’t easy and my dog hated it. I think a cone you snap on similar to a collar would work better.

The best comfort cone money can buy!

My fur kids are dealing with seasonal allergies. While the standard plastic cones are the best for shielding them from chewing anywhere on themselves they aren’t comfortable as you can see on their faces when they’re trying to rest. I also have the inflatable collars and while they are a step up in comfort from the cone they too fall short in the comfort department. Enter this UFO type collar which looks more like what Ace Frehley wore while playing guitar in KISS proves to check the comfort box better than the inflatable ring collar and the standard cone. I have security cams to watch these guys all day long and I see they sleep comfortably thru my work day much better than they did with any other safety collar. While they can’t reach their front or rear paws wearing this like the standard plastic cone they could with the inflatable rings but fell short in terms comfort. This may cost a few $$ more than the cone or the inflatable but it is in my opinion the best choice of the three. Can they eat and drink with this on? While the cone was poor in this department and with the inflatable they could eat and drink they can also eat and drink just fine with this UFO collar. I’m more than happy with this purchase as it has exceeded my expectations and best of all my fur kids are happier wearing these than they ever were wearing the cone or the inflatable ring. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Easily FIVE stars…!!! Great product

    Perfect Size for a Dachshund

Highly recommend this collar for a Dachshund. According to the chart, based on my baby’s weight (11.5 lb), I am glad I didn’t order the Large one. My Dachshund has very short legs (miniature Dachshund), and I purchased the MEDIUM size instead. My little baby Gigi is 16 months old. Her neck measures 11 inch. Her weight is 11.5 lb. Her body length is 13 inch. However, her legs are very short. This is a perfect soft collar for her. It has a white ribbed collar with an internal adjustable and secured/lock string to fit her around her neck. She has not tried to take it off because it is sooooo comfortable. She was just spayed 4 days ago. The vet gave her a blue soft collar, that I don’t need anymore since this one is better for her. She is able to go up an down her soft step ladder without problems. She can drink, eat, and sleep without any issues. She is recovering nicely and being herself again. She is also playing with her toys. She can walk without stepping into any of the circles of the collar. She is not dragging it on the floor while walking. She sleeps really well with it. I also bought her a surgical recovery onesie, but she is not using it as she cannot reach the stitches with this collar. She is very comfortable with it. I am very happy with this product and highly recommend it.

Must have for small timid pups!

My 6month old 11.5lb Pekeachon (half pekengense and half bichon) got spayed on friday October 2nd. Before her spay, I ordered this cone because I know her personality and I know she would hate the e-collar provided by the vet. I let her wear it BEFORE her surgery and gave her treats while in it.A little background on my puppy:I have sensitive puppy who will screech in terror if I put anything on her – despite training her to “like” her collar or harness. With her harness and this cone, she will tolerate it but she wont move or walk.I got this cone before her surgery to get her use to it at least. When bringing her home from her spay, she did as exspected and freaked out screeching in fear and jumping around and hid in a corner. I immediately took off the cone the vet gave her and put on this cone. She IMMEDIATELY settled down, and layed down. The picture on the pink fuzzy bed is where she hid herself after bringing her home.Im so relieved I got this cone, she would have 100% pulled her stitches if I left on her plastic cone.Even though shes not happy wearing it, shes at least comfortable (I think). Its like shes got a pillow everywhere she goes! She had a hard reaction to the whole surgery and medications so she needs all the comfort she can get.PROS1. Much better than the plastic cone2. Comfortable3. Adjustable collar4. Portable pillow5. Protects tummy from lickingCONSMy cons for this collar are very mild but I’ll mention it incase anyone is looking for a specific thing for their dog1. She can reach her back feet easily. This is fine for me since I’m just protecting her spay incison. She can’t reach her front paws either which is hard for her because she can’t play or chew on her toys or bully bones easily. But that’s the purpose of the cone.2. It’s the perfect size to protect her incision BUT it’s still big where when she walks, it’s in her way because shes got short legs. Her cone is in her way when she tries to go potty and I have to hold it tilted so shes not dragging on the grass. So if your dog has short legs and you have to walk them, maybe try a different collar because my poor little girl has a hard time walking with it. If I got a smaller size, it wouldnt cover her incision so I just help her walk and potty. If I take it off, she’ll immediately run off and try to get to her stitches so I have to leave it on no matter what.3. My BIGGEST issue is shes getting an allergy on her tummy from the collar rubbing on her skin when she tries to lick at her incision. She has very sensitive allergic skin and something about this collar is causing her a rash or irritation. This is popping up exactly where it rubs on her tummy. So on top of trying to stop her stratching her incision with her back legs, she’s also trying to scratch her rash.Overall I love this cone despite the rash. My little girl is comfy and relaxed during her recovery and thats the important part. She’s able to sleep normally, on her side or on her back. She needs a little help moving the cone when trying to lay down but I’m with her 24/7 during her recovery so I’m always there to adjust it for her.I suggest getting this cone before you need it so they get use to it and relax when they get home from the vet.

Cute but does not prevent scratching or head reach of my dog.

This was much more comfortable for my dog to wear than a cone, but it did not work. After he got used to it, he could reach far enough to gnaw on his hind leg. He also could scratch his eye with his back leg, which is what I was using a cone to prevent. He is back in a cone and I am out about $30. Save your money and time and don’t order this. Cute, comfortable, well made, but it does not deter my dog from reinjuring himself.
